In the 2023/24 season, with the Austrian premiere of Maria Lazar's "Der Nebel von Dybern" and the premiere of Dorothea Zeemann's recently published play "Erbe," our focus was on almost forgotten female authors. Directed by female directors and performed at a theater under female leadership, we brought these pieces into the discourse.

How do contemporary female authors fare on Austrian stages, and what about female theater creators in Austria in general? Have women in theater achieved their goal in their commitment to equality?

At the shared Sunday brunch, we'll be discussing these questions with author Marlene Streeruwitz, dramaturg and former artistic director of the Salzburg Festival Bettina Hering, and director and theater director Ingrid Lang, exploring their positions and perspectives on Austria's stages.
