People’s trust in their own senses has been dampened. The obvious feels like a thin film covering the actual. A similar uncertainty is reflected in the art works shown at Leopold Museum. For example, in Egon Schiele’s works, which emerged when philosophy (Friedrich Nietzsche) and psychoanalysis (Sigmund Freud) had begun to call the illusion of a coherent personality into question. An ideal arena for the figures of Viennese group Liquid Loft who ecstasise in a process of constant deconstruction. Eight acoustically connected “stand-alones” wander through the museum in spaces of desires, thoughts and dreams.
