Homo Sapiens Film with an A Capella Concert
HOMO SAPIENS
a film by Nikolaus Geyrhalter
with live music by the choir Company of Music
Deserted planet, filled with human voices
Since its world premiere at the Berlinale 2016, the film HOMO SAPIENS by Nikolaus Geyrhalter has impressed at festivals worldwide and in the cinema. In a montage of precisely composed, immobile settings, the film depicts a deserted planet and the spaces that Homo Sapiens has created for himself and his way of life, and which have already been reclaimed from nature at various stages.
The human voices of the renowned COMPANY OF MUSIC, under the direction of Johannes Hiemetsberger, blend live and a capella into the sounds of this deserted world: pieces and fragments of different composers combine with the images and sounds to create a meditative pull over the fragility of man and his Relationship to the world in which we live.
