woschdog / Sam's Bar Conzert
WOSCHDOG—or in standard German, Waschtag (Laundry Day)—has been dedicated, since their debut album foin, to merciless poetry in the Viennese dialect, wrapped in a previously unheard blend of downtempo, jazz, electronics, blues, and pop. It’s hard to categorize them into a specific genre.
Sebastian Fasthuber tried in Falter:
"Foin, the debut by Woschdog, is no nonsense... They cultivate their own style, which could be called Viennese trip-hop."
Mario Lang in Augustin:
"Challenging sound sketches that demand a lot and stand eerily pleasantly apart from the usual soundscape. Rarely has a low pulse been so exciting!"
For some time now, the versatile cellist and composer Lukas Lauermann, who has already performed with the band at several live gigs, has completed the former quartet. Together, they have created more unique pieces, which will soon be released as a "concept EP";-) At Sam's Bar, there will be an exclusive preview of the new sound of the Viennese band, and yes, none of the participants is an unknown face at the Theater Nestroyhof Hamakom. So to speak, Hausmusik with depth at Sam's Bar.
