The exhibition ... A Woman Is A Woman Is A Woman... is actually the presentation of the limited art publication Put Your Faith in Women by the Croatian concept and performance artist Vlasta Delimar. The catalogue appears on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name, which was held in the gallery michaela stock in 2016.

This catalogue deterritorialises the conventional exhibition space and is central, also physically present. The actual catalog is embedded in the original packaging for stockings of the company BIPA. The cover has been redesigned and in each stocking are small-format photographs. They give a deep insights into the artistic work of Vlasta Delimar. Among the photographs are older works from her oeuvre, exhibition views as well as current performances, which are listed in the catalogue and were shown in the exhibition in Vienna.

All 100 stockings are shown hanging on strings from the ceiling of the gallery. In the midst of this deliberately unpretentious installation one can look at the art catalogue, touch it or simply walk through it and the publication becomes alive. With the presentation, the informative and documentary function of the catalogue is relieved. This work shows a strong reference to the work of Vlasta Delimar from the year 1996 with the same title ... a woman is a woman is a woman.... Here again stockings with memorial photos of the artist were installed hanging.

VLASTA DELIMAR
[...] Born into a proletarian family, Vlasta Delimar has emerged onto the art scene of former Yugoslavia in the late 1970s and continued to pursue her practice internationally over the period of almost four decades. Between 1978 and 2016 she produced a number of works encompassing performances, actions, happenings, video-documents, photographs, photo-collages and installations, thus leaving an indelible mark on the evolution of visual culture and body politics in Central Eastern Europe, crowned in 2014 at the Zagreb Museum of Contemporary Art by her retrospective exhibition This is Me.
