Vladimír Židlický: Artful Games

Vladimír Židlický (1945, Czech Republic) is an internationally renowned photographer and artist. Since 1980, he has been represented in numerous individual and group exhibitions in various institutions and private galleries in both Europe and the USA.

The selection for this exhibition includes Židlický's works from the past ten years, focusing on his perception of the female face and body.
Židlický works are inspired by painting, drawing and old photographical techniques: silver bromide printing, ferrotypien, ambrotypien, color positives, and various techniques combined. The artist manipulates and destroys the original negatives, uses different interventions, but nevertheless remains faithful to the interpretation of the structures. His pictures are playful, but also emotional and melancholic, each image a sophistication of body and nature.
