Versatile Photography

The exhibition project invites visitors to discover the work of five Parisian and Viennese artists to discover how photography penetrates the permeable boundaries of the individual media and becomes part of the work material.

Drawing, video and sculpture seem to be penetrated by the photographic image, both in materiality and in the work process and in the ideal background. For these fragmentary rearrangements, the artists draw from the photographic iconography - whether through archaic braid work, video animation, inlay work, by transferring the flat print into the three-dimensionality or by the reproduction with carbon black.
