MOLENBEEK. A district in the heart of Europe's capital Brussels, bordered by the gray and constantly flowing canal Charleroi-Brussels. Described in the international media as a "hotbed of terror", "Jihad's replenishment camp" or "terror stronghold".
On the other side of the river - the EU quarter, a constant coming and going, arrivals and departures, a springboard for international careers, place of transit.

The installation CHANNEL # 1 CROSSING TO A PLACE WE LOVE is part of a series of audiovisual works that seeks to scratch the façade of "Europe's most popular ghetto" and highlight the stark boundaries between different social spaces. Hectic city sound with indistinct, often diffuse, sounds enters into dialogue with the video projection of anonymous spaces and individual memories. The installation interweaves image and sound into a place that is broken by people and their individual voices and creates new images. Images of a place that evokes stories of migration, of constant boundaries and unbridgeable obstacles, but also of life, in a place that is at home.
