PS #54: Mariah Garnett, Jibz Cameron: lesbian not erotica

Mariah Garnett will be showing several short films. Dynasty Handbag performs an evening of "songs" and physically challenging "dance" numbers with comedic flair in ugly leotards. This is the first time Jibz Cameron and Mariah Garnett present their work together.

Mariah Garnett is an experimental filmmaker whose hybrid films function as a way of accessing existing people and communities beyond her immediate experience. Using source material that ranges from found text to iconic gay porn stars, she often inserts herself into the films, creating allegories that locate and codify identity. She lives and works in Los Angeles.

Jibz Cameron is a performance/video artist and actor living in Los Angeles. Her multi-media performance work as "crackpot genius" alter ego Dynasty Handbag has spanned 15 years and been presented from the dumpiest dumps to the fanciest dumps. She has also produced multiple video works and 2 albums of original music. Jibz also produces and hosts Weirdo Night!, a monthly comedy and performance event in Los Angeles.
