For more than 10 years, the singer / songwriter Pokey LaFarge from Illinois has been making music and has dedicated himself to a creative mix of jazz, ragtime, country blues and western swing in his repertoire - and that with international ambition! Now his latest album "Manic Revelations" was released.

And the ten songs on "Manic Revelations" definitely demand attention from the listener. One always has the feeling that he changes the musical stylistic devices almost arbitrarily and overshadows the lyrically narrated stories with his chords and riffs.

In terms of content, it's not about looking back, it's about looking ahead, out of given patterns of thinking - and never before has Pokey proven his (self-) powers of observation so impressively. But artists whose work is based on their own experiences and experiences now have no choice but to change themselves to advance their work ... And so Pokey has also worked hard on himself! "This album is about confronting yourself," explains Pokey. “It’s about confronting your city, it’s relation with the world, and all it’s people. In the pursuit of making myself a better person, I create better art. Which hopefully makes the world a better place. Still, at times, I need to get away from it all.”
