Marcel Odenbach is one of the pioneers and most important representatives of video art. For several years, however, his multi-layered, mostly large-sized collages have also become the focus in which he continues his cinematographic work. At Kunsthalle Wien his solo exhibition „Proof of Nothing“ can be viewed, which puts Odenbach’s videos and collages together in a direct dialogue. Both complexes of work - the moving picture as well as the static image - are always characterized by an intricate, complex occupation with political, social and historical themes.

Peter Miller has also devoted himself to film and video since the beginning of his artistic career. However, he often writes the moving picture into the static one.

In contrast to Marcel Odenbach, Peter Miller focuses on formal, technical and illusionist aspects. With one of his much-admired experimental works Peter Miller is represented at this year's 57th International Art Exhibition - La Biennale di Venezia (curated by Christine Macel).

Marcel Odenbach and Peter Miller met in the 2000s in Cologne at the Kunsthochschule für Medien (KHM), where Odenbach taught and Miller had a scholarship. Since then they have been in artistic exchange constantly. Their first joint exhibition is called „Modus Operandi Post Medridiem“. In particular, they include typical Viennese peculiarities and themes - from the Manner-Waffles to Sigmund Freud.

Marcel Odenbach was born in Germany, Peter Miller is from the USA. Both of them live and work in Cologne and Düsseldorf.
