Kurt Hentschläger FEED X

Austrian artist Kurt Hentschläger, a founding member of the duo Granular Synthesis, is widely regarded as a pioneer of multimedia installations and performances. The Wiener Festwochen are proud to present the premiere of FEED.X, the newly revised version of his iconic work FEED, often described by visitors as a consciousness-expanding, spiritual experience. The immersive, performative installation focuses on the question of the limits of human perception, which Hentschläger explores by alternating sensory deprivation and overload. A video projection of animated 3D figures moving across a screen in seemingly floating choreographies is followed by an intense sensory amalgamation of artificial fog, stroboscopic effects and sub-bass frequencies. A space without reference points blurs the dividing lines between internal and external perception inside a seemingly endless kaleidoscopic architecture.
