A Three Part Reading-Performance by Jules Joanne Gleeson

Jules Joanne Gleeson is a Londoner based in Vienna. Her recent work is about pre-modern gender history, gay boys, trans feminism, shame, Marxism, 4Chan, queer phenomenology and naughty monks.

'This is a performance about my life, and the history of people like me.

Because I like making lists, it comes in three parts: skin, survival, and identity.

Starting at the surface, working down to practical day-to-day matters (overcoming alienation and avoiding either dying or denying your own existence), and ending with a deeper sense of belonging (and how scary that can be to find...)

I'll be providing some stories useful to people interested in anti-racism, diasporas, gender transformation, different types of feminism talking to each other, trans politics, LGBTI history, and queer health.

I also might sing at the end.'
