FEDERICO "PICO BE" SÁNCHEZ - Spanish sketches

Enfant Terrible from the Munich cultural professions, class speaker of the underrated, chronicler of the subterfuges - »Pico is not only the most enigmatic poet of his city, but also her spun musician« (Hubert Weinheimer), and »as a Gesamtkunstwerk unpredictable anyway« (Franz Dobler).

The vocalist and founder of the groups Camera Cinema and The White Horse (Teutsche Machos), screamin'-word-artist Pacífico Boy, film critic, disc jockey and co-founder of the label Schamoni Musik as Bricoleur, who runs dub fiction with language, consider themselves. His debut was - together with that of Stefanie Sargnagel - within the Redelsteiner Dahimène Edition journey through Europe into the world.

In his current series of texts, which is based on a publication in the mail magazine Ultra Soft, we are unexpectedly sent on a journey through time - in the 1970s, and even further back in search of a "Spanish Fantasma". The story does not stop. It appears as a version of many, as MK ULTRA SOFT MACHINE.
It reveals phantoms, such as the red-white-and-red steel beams of Playa de Pals, which are part of the beach holiday memories of Pico's childhood, and were blown up spectacularly in March 2006. Or the greenhouse plantations of Almería, where our winter tomatoes are picked "by magic". It's about work, about the possibilities and impossibilities of friendship. It's about fascism.

The mail magazine ULTRA SOFT is published by Mira Mann (Candelilla) and Florian Kessler (Hanser Verlag), and can be ordered free of charge at ultra-soft@ultra-soft.de

A listening section will be released in March as a poster + downloadcode + tape by the publisher http://cosimapitz.de/
