In 1915, Bronislaw Malinowski set out to the coast of New Guinea to document the practices of local residents. His extensive data on sexuality, magic and ghosts should pave the way for future anthropologists and bring glory to him as one of the founding fathers of anthropology. Almost 100 years later, his great-grandson returns to New Guinea and contemplates the controversial legacy that Malinowski left behind in anthropology, his own family and the descendants of those he researched.
