The themes of the artist may appear old-fashioned, especially in the world of contemporary art, but they have assumed an almost missionary character for some (eg Joseph Beuys, Anselm Kiefer, Hermann Nitsch, Gino de Dominicis).

The religious, philosophical and anthropological aspects of the past are taken up again in a contemporary language.
