»The heart of dance lies on the margins; with those people who aren’t dancing, yet somehow are …« (Boris Charmatz)
A Dancer’s Day, the highlight of the 10000 gestes series, is Boris Charmatz and his Musée de la danse’s invitation to the audience to form a community for one day. Over a period of six hours, visitors can dip into the life of a dancer and immerse themselves in the architecture of the dance piece 10000 gestes.

The visitors will warm up with the professional dancers, participate in a workshop with the choreographer, have a picnic and rest or dance together, thereby filling a room with collective experience where later, a dance piece will unfold. Whether it’s Frank Willens performing a solo by Tino Sehgal, the 23 dancers of 10000 gestes, or Boris Charmatz and Emmanuelle Huynh moving to the decelerated, elongated notes of the Bolero sounds – a whole day will be dedicated to dance and to community among those people »who aren’t dancing, yet somehow are …«
