"Calls of the Wind", composed by Mehdi Aminian (Iran), residing in Bucharest and Vienna, is a musical constellation of two bamboo flutes, Bansuri (North India) and Ney (Iran), as well as Setar and sung poetry (Mehdi Aminian). This performance seeks to highlight the common musical roots of Persia and India, which are among the oldest human civilizations. Both spaces share a common cultural heritage and, over the centuries, have been characterized by contact and exchange in the field of language, spirituality, art and music. These common elements are performed in a special musical dialogue of Iranian Radif and Indian Raga and is accompanied by some Sufi poems from Rumi, Hafez, etc,. which will establish the connection between instrument and voice. Both musicians have a long history of cooperation in performance and exploration, both in the respective musical specialty, and in different music cultures.
