in athens : in vienna

In spring/summer 2017, the project in Austria - Austrian Artist Residency gave four visual artists with an Austrian connection the opportunity to spend two months working in Athens. As part of the residency, they specifically developed projects, each dealing with the specificities of the city of Athens and using different methods and media to ask what it means to live and work in Athens.
Created under the multifaceted impression of this city, the works of the exhibition in athens: in vienna bring glimpses and perspectives to the discussion, which - more or less explicitly - refer to selected spatial and temporal constellations of Athens and thus sometimes also a change of perspective to a possible one Provoking in-the-world being in vienna.

As in ατhεns - Austrian Artist Residency (April - July 2017), the exhibition project in ατhεns: in vienna is realized by Antonia Rahofer (freelance curator, Vienna / Athens) in cooperation with Kunstverein EXTRA.
