ART NOUVEAU WORLD DAY was launched in 2013 to commemorate the day when the architects Antoni Gaudí and Ödön Lechner died. Museums and organizations across Europe contribute exhibitions, photography competitions, symposia, and readings to this international event. In the MAK, ART NOUVEAU WORLD DAY 2018 reflects the spirit of the architect Otto Wagner, the 100th anniversary of whose death is celebrated this year. Special guided tours through the exhibition POST OTTO WAGNER: From the Postal Savings Bank to Post-Modernism, a visit to the Austrian Postal Savings Bank, and an architecture walk through Vienna allow visitors to get to know Wagner’s work more closely.
