The Acousmatic Project II

The «Vienna Acousmonium», developed by Thomas Gorbach, is an orchestra of surround sound loudspeakers and one which need fear no comparison with legendary forerunners from the Musique concrète movement. Acousmatic music is the epitome of cinema in your head – for that reason, the 2017 edition of Wien Modern is dedicating a whole weekend to acoustic art on the top floor of the TU. With a portrait of the French-Argentinian electronic pioneer Beatriz Ferreyra, the Russian avant-garde silent film classic «The Man with the Movie Camera» with a soundtrack by Pierre Henry and new electronic works from Austria.
